What is Bruxism?

Bruxism is the medical term for teeth grinding and jaw clenching, which often occurs during sleep without the person even realising it. Also known as sleep bruxism or night grinding, this condition can place significant pressure on the teeth, jaw muscles, and jaw joints over time.

Common signs and symptoms of bruxism include worn or flattened teeth, chipped or cracked teeth, jaw pain or stiffness, frequent headaches, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) discomfort, neck tension, and increased tooth sensitivity. If left untreated, ongoing grinding and clenching can lead to dental damage, discomfort, and costly dental treatment.

A Bruxism Mouthguard helps protect your teeth from the damaging effects of night-time grinding and clenching while providing a comfortable barrier between your upper and lower teeth as you sleep.

Made from High-Quality EVA

Our Bruxism Mouthguards are manufactured from premium EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), the material most commonly used in quality sports and night guards due to its excellent balance of comfort, flexibility, shock absorption, and durability.

Unlike softer silicone alternatives, EVA is designed to withstand the repeated pressure of nightly grinding and clenching while maintaining its shape and protective properties over time. This makes it an ideal choice for people looking for a comfortable, long-lasting solution to help protect their teeth from the damaging effects of bruxism.

Mouthguard

Many custom dental mouthguards cost several hundred dollars.

Our Bruxism Mouthguards provide an an affordable way to find out how comfortable you are sleeping with a mouthguard before considering a dentist-made night guard.

Some people find that sleeping with a mouthguard takes time to get used to.  Our affordable, home-moulded option lets you experience wearing a mouthguard overnight before deciding whether to invest in a custom-made dental mouthguard.

  • We recommend speaking with your dentist before using a Bruxism mouthguard if you have braces, dentures, crowns, implants or extensive dental work; loose, damaged or badly worn teeth; persistent jaw pain; or difficulty opening or closing your mouth. Please also seek dental advice before purchasing for a child. A mouthguard can help protect teeth from the effects of grinding and clenching, but it does not diagnose, treat or cure bruxism.
